A highly skilled and well-resourced threat actor that conducts long-term, targeted attacks using multiple methods such as cyber intrusions, physical access, and social engineering. An APT seeks to establish and maintain a hidden presence within an organization’s IT environment to steal data, disrupt operations, compromise missions, or prepare for future attacks. These threats are persistent, adaptive to defenses, and committed to maintaining ongoing access.
